Throughout 2017, President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans have continually taken aim at the health, well-being, and independence of Americans with disabilities. From repeated attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and end Medicaid as we know it to budget proposals that slash Social Security disability benefits, disability employment services, Meals on Wheels, and more, the agenda Trump and his colleagues in Congress are pursuing would be nothing short of a disaster for people with disabilities. The latest attack comes in the form of their partisan tax plan, which passed the House on November 16 and is set to be voted on in the Senate as soon as this week. —https://www.

Join people with disabilities, our families, and advocates around the country next Wednesday, Nov. 29th, for a national call-in day to oppose the Senate’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.
This bill will hurt people with disabilities.
* It dramatically cuts the revenue necessary to fund Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, housing, and other services that benefit people with disabilities.
* The $1.5 trillion cut to revenue is the “pay for” for tax cuts that disproportionately benefit the wealthiest Americans and large corporations.
* It eliminates tax deductions and credits that help people with disabilities work, access housing, and get medication.
* It repeals the Affordable Care Act’s requirement that everyone have health insurance. This will cause premiums for people with disabilities and pre-existing conditions to increase, leaving heath insurance unaffordable for millions.
Help us send a loud and clear message that this legislation is unacceptable!
